Children ages 6-10 are invited to join New Cumberland Public Library in a celebration of trees for Earth Day! As part of Longwood Gardens Community Read, we’ll start with a storytime featuring The Tree Lady, the true story of green-thumbed pioneer and activist Kate Sessions, who helped San Diego grow from a dry desert town into a lush, leafy city known for its gorgeous parks and gardens. The book will be followed by a walk through our beautiful tree-filled grounds, where we’ll identify trees. We’ll finish with a tree-inspired craft and participants will each receive a seedling to plant as well as a chance to win admission tickets to Longwood Gardens. This event will take place inside and outside: please dress appropriately. **Registration is required.**
