This site is a resource for you, individuals with disabilities, family members, and anybody in the community with a stake in the well-being of people with disabilities. Our mission is to make this site a comprehensive resource for individuals with disabilities living in Cumberland, Dauphin, and Perry counties. Although our target area is relatively small, the resources and organizations out there are expansive, so we are bound to have missed a few along the way. As experts in your own regard, we encourage you to inform us of additional resources you found useful, so that we may inform everyone else about them. We have included four examples in which you can help Community Links be a better advocacy site for our community:

  1. Let us know if you believe a certain topic is unaddressed or incomplete, or inform us of additional helpful organizations that are missing from our Community Directory.
  2. Detail any concerns you may have regarding site accessibility (ease of navigating the pages) or any page’s content.
  3. Consider writing for our blog and offering your unique perspective.
  4. Let us know of any upcoming or recurring events that we can then share with the rest of the community here.

We also would like to utilize this website not only as a means of information-referral, but also as a platform for creating change in the outcomes of individuals with disabilities. Change is a daunting word, especially in the context of politics and policy, but the beauty of operating on a small scale is that community engagement is significantly more applicable, making change closer and more possible than we might expect. We want to start a dialogue first between us and you, the community, so please contact us through the contact form on our Contact Us page with feedback, concerns, or suggestions. Then, look for a discussion board in the near future as a way to start the dialogue between members in our community.

For Businesses

Based on feedback from the community, we are working to revamp our Events Calendar to be more relevant and engaging to community members. There are many businesses out there doing great work in providing an inclusive and engaging community for individuals with disabilities, and we want to hear from you. Please reach out to us with events to be a part of an upcoming calendar where we highlight these opportunities to members of the community. Thank you!
