A week long summer camp for children ages 8-17 who have a primary diagnosis of epilepsy/seizure disorder. The EAWCP strives to make a camping experience available to all children with epilepsy; however, campers must meet all basic eligibility criteria. This includes but is not limited to independent self care skills such as toileting, bathing, communicating, feeding skills, etc. as well as the skills needed to function independently within an inclusionary setting.
Medical staff will be available on-site during the entire weekend of camp to supervise medication administration and any seizure-related medical care required by our campers. Counselors will also be in the cabins and fully trained to provide seizure recognition and first aid, build confidence, and provide guidance to campers in a fun-filled atmosphere.
