Agency: Independent Speech Therapy Provider
Role: Speech Therapist
Years worked in EI: 20
Favorite pastime: walking with my camera + crafts of all kinds (beading, stenciling, card making, flower arranging, crocheting, sewing)
Favorite children’s book: Baby Dear (written by: Esther Wilkin, illustrated by: Eloise Wilkin) This book was given to me because I took care of my baby doll as my mom took care of my baby sister. One of the pages toward the end of the book especially made an impression on me “We smile at our babies and talk to them. Mommy says this is the way our babies know they are the most wonderful babies in the world.”
Favorite toy as a child: my little kitchen (esp. the tea set so I’ve attached an extra picture.)
The best part about working in EI is: being greeted at the door by parents who are SO excited to tell about what their kiddos have done since our last speech visit.
In this “Getting to Know You” series, we will periodically feature one of our dedicated therapists, teachers, and service coordinators from the birth to three and preschool programs in Central PA. Check back with us often to get to know the wonderful people we have in our early intervention system — you may see some familiar faces!
