It is easy being green! This St. Patrick’s day plan some fun activities and a sweet treat for your children.

shamrock shake

First things first…Let’s make a shamrock shake so that we can enjoy it while making some crafts.

Put 2 cups vanilla ice cream, 1 cup milk, 8 drops of green food color and 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract into a blender and give it a whirl. Feel free to garnish with whipped cream and a cherry to make it even more exciting.

Puffy paint shamrock

This is an easy sensory craft that should be entertaining for at least 15 5 minutes. Your child can use the puffy paint to create a 3-D shamrock to hang on your fridge. Click the image for instructions and the printable shamrock template.

Shamrock inks

A produce masterpiece! If you slice the end off a bell pepper, you have a perfect clover shape to stamp into paint for little hands. I especially like these contrasting festive colors.

leprechaun-handprint-craft

A perfect Leprechaun. Mom’s love handprint art, we can’t seem to get enough of those little hands hanging everywhere. It is especially impressive with the different colored paint on the fingers to create the beard. Glue on googly eyes and there you have it!

Luck of the Irish, Top of the mornin’ and all the best to you to avoid any malarchy or shenanigans. Happy St. Patrick’s day!
